|Hi, my name is Debasish Banerjee, and I appreciate you visiting my website to find out about my endeavor.
On the 31st of May, 2016 I took off to fly round the world in my Cessna 182 to raise awareness of diabetes. I started from Macon County airport (1A5) in Franklin, NC to fly through Canada, Greenland, Iceland, England, France, the Middle East, India, Thailand, Philippines, Japan and then back to the United States through the Aleutian islands. To avoid a long night flight from Japan to the Aleutian islands (about 12 hours), I looked at an alternative route – flying from Sapporo (Japan) to Khabarovsk to Magadan to Anadyr (all in Russia) and then to Nome in Alaska. If I could’ve gotten all the approvals for this route through Russia, it would have been an easier route than doing Japan to Alaska. This site details what I did to prepare for the project, and chronicles the journey. It is nothing short of a daunting task. I ask for your prayers and good wishes.
